Here's what a car battery looks from the inside

A car battery looks like a box with some art-work on the outside. But inside, there is a whole lot of chemistry (literally) at work. There are cathode and anode plates kept away from each other by separators. There is sulphuric acid which is mixed with water. There is lead and lead compound in paste form. There is just so much going on inside a battery that a simple working cannot really explain the world in there (if you want to know how a car battery works, here's how). Here's a video that shows you the innards of a car's battery (well, a used car battery). However, do not attempt to ever tear apart a battery like this guy does or there will be unhappy surprises waiting for you, at the very least.
