SF batteries are one of the most underrated battery companies present in India. A subsidiary of Exide batteries in India, SF batteries was previously known as SF Sonic. It was only in 2021, that the name of the company was renamed SF batteries. While the company is owned by Exide batteries, it has its research and development team, which designs batteries with different designs and chemical formulations, instead of just being an example of badge engineering.

History

The journey of SF batteries started in 1998 as SF Sonic, which commenced as a joint venture between Exide batteries and Furukawa batteries from Japan (‘S’ for Standard and ‘F’ for Furukawa). The name of the company was changed from SF Sonic to SF batteries in 2021. The SF batteries continue to co-exist with Exide batteries as an entirely different entity and are sold via different authorized centres and dealers.
