Auto Expo 2020: EV Start-Ups All Geared To Light Up The Show

Around 12 EV start-ups are showcasing their products with futuristic technology at Asia's largest automotive event

Sighting the hustle-bustle in the electric vehicle (EV) segment and mass inclination towards a greener earth, Auto Expo 2020 is mostly absorbed by the EV array. Besides established and leading EV manufacturers participating in the biennial auto show, there are many EV start-ups trying to grab the limelight.

Due to environmental awareness and rising pollution in cities, people are looking for a clean and sustainable mobility solution. So let’s check out how the budding EV entrepreneurs have planned to electrify consumers approach with their electric vehicles.

At the Auto Expo 2020, the Rajasthan based Devot Motors – an e-motorcycle maker – unveiled their first product in the form of concept, a next-gen electric street motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2020.

Another is Jitendra New EV Tech start-up with its registered office in Nashik (Maharashtra). Backed by Shah Group, which has decades of experience in the automotive segment, it manufactures passenger as well as cargo e-rickshaws and e-scooters.

Battrixx comes with a customised line-up of advanced lithium-ion battery packs and battery management system (BMS). A part of the Kabra Extrusion technik it works towards sustainable e-mobility solution.

The e-scooters Model Civitas and X1 are also on display at the 2020 Auto Expo by a very promising EV start-up, M2GO. Setup last year (2019) the scooters will be powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

Okinawa brand e-scooters can be seen running on Indian streets and have been praised for its battery life. The inspiring Indian start-up from Gurugram, Okinawa Autotech Private Ltd. is seen with its e-scooter range at the auto event. It unveiled the prototype of its upcoming scooter Cruiser at the second media day of Auto Expo 2020. Established in the year 2015, Okinawa has as many as eight electric scooters in its portfolio.

Started in 2018, Omjay EV also has all the abilities to make big in the EV space in India. The Orissa based EV start-up launched its initial e-scooter range called ‘EeVe’. At present, there are four products in the company line-up with 15 new models joining soon in near future.

Some of the well-known bigwigs in the electric vehicle sphere include the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and other international automotive brands. Also, there are many Chinese EV manufacturers with their e-mobility solutions at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo venued at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The show will run till Feb 12.
