Auto Expo 2020: Mahindra Showcases The Widest Electric Vehicle Range

Mahindra Pavillion features 3 production-ready electric vehicles

After releasing teasers before the Auto Expo 2020, Mahindra finally unwrapped its wide range of electric vehicles at the ongoing biennial event. Home-grown UV king displayed a total of 18 vehicles that comprise of facelifts, next-gen edition of present vehicles and electric vehicles. 

The Funster Concept reveals the design of the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 with electric choice. Standing next to it is the all-electric XUV300 with a different front grille. While the Mahindra eKUV100 was launched at Rs 8.25 lakh, the ATOM concept, which is a commercial quadricycle on the lines of Bajaj Qute, was also showcased. The ATOM, with proportions of a toy car, is a battery-powered mini three-seater purposely designed for city use.

The Funster, an innovative, high-performance EV with huge 60kWh battery pack and four electric motors – one for each wheel. The distinctive match of high power battery and individual motors will be giving out 313hp of power with an amazing 100kph from nought in less than 5 seconds.

Among all, the major focus was, of course, on the Mahindra eKUV100. The potential car is set to make way to the showrooms this year in April-June. With a range of 140km and fast-charging feature, it claims 80% charge from zero in less than an hour. Intended for commercial use, it becomes the country’s cheapest EV, with a price label reading Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Likewise, the all-electric XUV300 will draw power from a 40kWh battery pack and can go up to 300+ km on a single charge.
