Nissan Associates With EVgo To Offer Charging Facility To New Owners

The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Nissan has partnered with EVgo to offer access to charging network to the buyers and renters of new Nissan LEAF EV. It is a brand-new scheme, which is designed to create awareness among US drivers to switch to EV. The carmaker will offer USD 250 of pre-paid charging credits to the local buyers who purchase or rent a new Nissan LEAF or even LEAF PLUS on or after November 1st, 2019.

Director of EV sales and marketing, Nissan North America, Aditya Jairaj, said “Nissan is a long-time leader in electric vehicles and this new partnership with EVgo will give Nissan LEAF owners confidence powered by tens of thousands of chargers across America. Convenient access to public chargers can be incredibly helpful for LEAF owners in their day-to-day lives.”

This program will provide charging access to more than 750 public charging stations, which are equipped with more than 1,200 fast chargers. Having said that, Nissan owners and renters will also enjoy access to over 30,000chargers in US.

“The future of driving is electric, and EVgo is focused on delivering reliable and convenient fast charging for everyone. Anyone who has tried an EV loves it, and EVgo and Nissan are making it easier for more drivers to make the switch to an electric vehicle,” said the CEO of EVgo, Cathy Zoi.

All the new EVgo fast chargers will generate 100kW and have both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, which allows all the EV owners to enjoy the benefit from the brand’s network expansion.
